YEREVAN, JULY 28, ARMENPRESS. The April war clearly showed that our defense is in our own hands, political analyst Richard Giragosian said in an interview with “Armenpress”.

“In fact, Russia’s stance, as a number one country providing ammunition to both Armenia and Azerbaijan, is not beneficial and favorable for Russia itself acting as a mediator in the OSCE Minsk Group. Now we see that the process of Russia’s providing weapons to Armenia is being late in case when Russia intends to sign a new agreement on supplying weapons to Azerbaijan”, Giragosian said.

He said Russia is the only country in the OSCE Minsk Group for which both war and peace are not beneficial. “It is also the only country which gradually moved away from its pro-Armenian stance and started to improve the relations with Azerbaijan. This means that the major key to Armenia’s defense is neither NATO, nor any other country, it is in our own hands”, the political analyst said.
