Turkey’s treatment of soldiers is simply vandalism – Denis Dvornikov

YEREVAN, JULY 21, ARMENPRESS. According to Denis Dvornikov, member of the Civic Chamber of Russia, Turkey’s treatment of the soldiers who attempted the coup is vandalism.

“Speaking about the attempted coup in Turkey is a little difficult, however the only thing that is disturbing for me it the way the arrested soldiers are being treated – decapitations, tortures, which is simply ferocity. On the other hand I know Turkish people who also follow the events with horror.

Nevertheless, there is a very important factor here: in my opinion, the situation, which Erdogan has put himself into, already complicates the involvement of the military in some kind of provocative actions against Nagorno Karabakh and Armenia. Their aggressive  attitude on the Nagorno Karabakh issue significantly limits their aspirations of becoming friends with Russia and even Iran”, Denis Dvornikov said.

Approximately 290 people died as result of clashes across Turkish cities after the July 15 failed coup.

According to official information, 1440 people were wounded.
