YEREVAN, APRIL 22, ARMENPRESS. As “Armenpress” reports citing the “Agos” newspaper, commermorative events on the 101st anniversary of the Armenian Genocide will be held in Turkey’s Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir.

A commemoration event on Sevak Balkchri, Armenian soldier who was killed in the Turkish Army by ethnic hatred will be held on April 24 in the Armenian cemetery of Shishli at 15:30 local time.

Later that day, at 19:15, the main commemorative event will be held in Istanbul’s central Istiklal avenue.

A liturgy will be served in Istanbul’s Virgin Mary church. Currently it is not known whether or nor officials will be present. (Last year the European Union Affairs Minister of Turkey was present).

A discussion will be held on April 23 in Ankara. A commemorative march will take place on April 24 at 15:00 local time.

On April 24 at 19:00 local time a rally will take place in the Talaat Pascha Boulevard of Izmir.
