This week "Armenpress" has singled out two remarkable books, under two headings:

Eduard Khachikyan, Smbat Goundstable

Smbat Goundstable is a historical novel about the period of one of the powerful kings of Cilicia - Hetoum I and his philosopher and legist brother Commander Smbat - a period when due to diplomatic alliance with the Mongols, not only did they restrain the neighboring enemies, the Seljuk Turks, Latin countries and later Egyptian Mamluks, but also enlarged the country's borders. The book was published by “Edit Print” publishing house.

World Literature

Otar Chiladze, The Basket

The Basket - published in 2003 is the last novel by Otar Chiladze. A Saga-novel, overtly portraying 'empire of evil', its consequences and a long journey of Georgian society and culture, won top literary award SABA as the best novel of the year. The book was published by “Antares” publishing house.
