YEREVAN, AUGUST 17, ARMENPRESS. The Syrian army made new achievements in Zabadani city located in the vicinity of Damascus together with the Lebanese “Hezbollah” on August 17. As “Armenpress” reports, citing Syrian SANA news agency, 46 buildings have been liberated by joint efforts in Zabadani after eliminating the hide-outs of the terrorists.

According to information from military sources, the terrorists are being pursued. The source also informs that Zahra district and Hara Al-Gharbieh region are fully liberated.

Earlier the Syrian army and “Hezbollah” had taken a number of buildings in the western district of Zabadani under control. Moreover, they had seized the factory of explosive devices where a large number of mortars and explosive devices of different calibers were discovered.

The Syrian army struggles against tens of armed organizations for more than 4 years trying to restore security and stability in the country. According to UN data more than 220 thousand people have died during the clashes going on for more than four years in Syria.
