On June 4th, Prime Minister Harper had the opportunity to meet with members of Toronto’s Armenian community after he made an announcement on new measures to better ensure the safety and security of Canadians. As Armenpress informed, the announcement included new support for the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS), cracking down on the financing of terrorist groups through registered charities in Canada, and also significant support over a five-year period to expand biometric screening measures to all foreign travellers entering Canada on a visa.

The Prime Minister thanked the Armenian community their contributions to Canada.
