4,000 young families in Armenia have apartments due to state program

YEREVAN, JUNE 12, ARMENPRESS: The process of providing affordable housing to the young families and specialists continues in Armenia. The Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, coordinating the programs, hopes to meet the demand of satisfying the acute housing needs of all the young families in the forthcoming 3-4 years. Armenpress talked to the Deputy Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Arsen Karamyan on the programs.
- In what stage are the state program “Affordable apartment to young families”, adopted by the Government of Armenia and the housing program “Assistance to young families”, implemented under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Armenia?
- In the framework of the state program “Affordable apartment to young families”, by May 31 2015, 1803 loans were refinanced, in general, 13 billion 534,5 million drams. This is a considerable amount of money. Within about 5 years so many families have managed to use this program.
- So, we can say that the number of the participants of the programs is eloquent. Have the expectations been justified?
- Our programs are in high demand and have an unconditional authority. We are satisfied with the participation figures, as in 2009, when we started the both programs, we carried out study among the youth and there were 6-7,000 families, who had housing problems. Now we can say that in the result of the two programs we have managed to solve 50% of the task. I think that the programs will be continuative at least in the forthcoming 3-4 years and that percentage will grow a bit. If not 100%, we will be close to meeting the main demand.
