SAINT PETERSBURG, 23 MAY, ARMENPRESS. Mayor of Yerevan Taron Margaryan and Governor of Saint Petersburg Georgy Poltavchenko visited the Kronshtadt Oblast in the northern capital of the Russian Federation and participated in the event dedicated to the 110^th anniversary of the Battle of Tsushima.

 As the Department of Information and Public Relations of Yerevan Municipality reports to “Armenpress”, during the ceremony, Mayor of Yerevan Taron Margaryan and Governor of Saint Petersburg Georgy Poltavchenko paid tribute to the sailors who died in the Battle of Tsushima. The 1905 Battle of Tsushima that took place during the Russo-Japanese War became fatal for the Russian fleet. In his speech addressed to the gathered, Governor of Saint Petersburg Georgy Poltavchenko expressed certainty that the new generation of sailors would remember their heroes and would continue to keep the honor of the Russian fleet high.
