Romanian journalist traces campaign against Varujan Vosganian to Turkey

BUCHAREST, 19 FEBRUARY, ARMENPRESS. In his February 16 article posted on the Romanian ActiveNews website, Razvan Constantinescu said he traces the campaign against Romanian-Armenian Senator Varujan Vosganian to Turkey.

According to “Armenpress”, touching upon the rumors about linking Vosganian to corruption, the author recalls that the Romanian parliament is defending President of the Union of Armenians of Romania, Senator Varujan Vosganian from the same allegation for the second time in a row and asks how can there be a case on corruption when the proceedings are being carried out by the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism and not the National Anti-Corruption Agency.

The author recalls that “over the past five years, Varujan Vosganian, who has been declared as “the number one danger for society” hasn’t made any trouble for anyone, while the DIOCT, the chairmanship, partners from political parties, failed writers and the mass media are against Vosganian, making it seem like their life depends on him”.

Razvan Constantinescu goes on and calls readers’ attention to the fact that “over the past couple of years, Vosganian has mainly been involved with his novel “Book of Whispers”, for which he has received several awards and which has been translated into nearly 20 languages. This year, which marks the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide perpetrated in the Ottoman Empire, the senator’s book has become a symbol for recognition of the Armenian Genocide.”
