Russian Embassy in Armenia mourns with the Armenian people

YEREVAN, 12 JANUARY, ARMENPRESS. The Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Armenia has issued a statement on the tragedy that has taken place in Gyumri. As “Armenpress” reports, the statement reads as follows: “We are shocked by the horrible tragedy that took place in Gyumri. We mourn with the Armenian people. We express our condolences to the families of the deceased. The perpetrator of tat horrible tragedy must be strictly punished. Currently, the corresponding authorities of the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation are investigating with the purpose of conducting an objective and multifaceted investigation into the incident. The investigative groups have concentrated their efforts, in accordance with the agreement on the installment of military base 102 in the territory of the Republic.”

 

Earlier, “Armenpress” reported that the murder in Gyumri left 6 people dead. According to preliminary data, the crime was committed by soldier Valery Permyakov. Police report that on January 12 at 12:30, the Kumayiri police division received an alarm from the medical emergency station that people had been injured from gunshots at home 188 located at Myasnikyan Street in Gyumri. The operative group left for the scene and found out that the unknown person had used an automatic gun and had killed the residents of the house, including Seryozha Avetisyan (born in 1961), Hasmik Avetisyan (born in 1959), Aida Avetisyan (born in 1979), Armen Avetisyan (born in 1981), Araksya Poghosyan (born in 1990) and Hasmik Avetisyan (date of birth is being clarified). Seryozha Avetisyan (born in 2014) has been transferred to a hospital with gunshots.
