Bucharest again enthusiastic about Strada Armeneasca festival

BUCHAREST, AUGUST 5, ARMENPRESS. It is already the second year that during the evening news Romanian Television announces about Armenian Festival in Bucharest and characterizes it in the following words: “Delicious food and fragrant spices, old brandy and magnificent pomegranate wine can be found in Strada Armeneasca.”

On  August 1-3, Cartierul Armenesc was full of the Armenian colors and aroma, dancing and music, Armenian speech, applauds and laughter for three days from early morning till late night in Bucharest’s Armenian district. Greek and Israeli flags were mixed with the Armenian tricolor, Greek Sirtaki and Jewish Hava Nagila followed Gypsies’ rhythms. Thousands of people living in Bucharest, flooding in the yard of Armenian church and in Armeneaska Street adjacent to it. Group by group people flooded the boutiques telling about the Armenian-Romanian great illustrations, books, jewelry and Armenian famous coffee, wine and bakery. Jugglers and fortune tellers were walking through colorful tents and boutiques, the paperboy was calling here and there, the silversmith was casting jewelry in front of your eyes and the artist was painting canvases, children were playing in the Armenian church’s yard, while the representatives of the elder generation opened the bunch of memories under the shade of Armenian snack bar around a cup of coffee and juice syrup.
