“The eyewitness”: Turkish invasion to Mount Musa

“The eyewitness”: Turkish invasion to Mount Musa

The Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire during the World War I in the beginning of the previous century is one of the biggest crimes against humanity. Advancing the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide Armenpress introduces the new project on the stories of the eyewitnesses and survivors of the calamity to prove the world one more time that our demand for the recognition of the Armenian Genocide is fair and justified. This time the project is dedicated to the story of the 103-year-old Khosrov Frangyan.
ETCHMIADZIN, OCTOBER 29, ARMENPRESS: The life of the 103-year-old Khosrov Frangyan, as of many genocide witnesses, is full of events, which he remembers with clear sequence. “In 1915 the Turkish came to Mount Musa and when the local population was made to climb the mountains, I was five years old. At that time mulberry had just grown and every person had its garden”.
Their family remained in Mount Musa by 1939, after which they moved to Beirut. Then Khosrov Frangyan worked in Damascus and got married in 1947. The family of Frangyans moved to Armenia in 1947.
For the witness the greatest regret is the loss of their house in Mount Musa. “If I go and find my house I will get younger by 10 years. I would like to see my birthplace for one more time… I would have swum in the Mediterranean every day”, - told Khosrov Frangyan.
Touching upon the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide, Khosrov Frangyan noted: “Do not ever believe a Turkish. The Turkish may be good to you but then hit from behind. All the Armenians know well that the Turkish never change”.
