Armenian ambassador handed her credentials to Vietnamese President

YEREVAN, AUGUST 27, ARMENPRESS: In Socialist Republic of Vietnam on August 27 newly appointed ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Armenia Raisa Vardanyan handed her credentials to President Truong Tan Sang. “Armenpress” was informed from press service of Armenian foreign affairs ministry that during the conversation after the ceremony Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang congratulated ambassador Vardanyan on occasion of appointment and highlighted that appointment of Armenian first resident ambassador in Hanoi is a historic event for two countries.

President of Socialist Republic of Vietnam expressed assurance that foundation of Armenian embassy in Hanoi will give new impetus to friendship relations between two nations coming from Soviet period. Ambassador Vardanyan thanked for warm reception and mentioned that all her efforts will be directed to development of cooperation between two countries in different spheres.

During the conversation was stressed the necessity of using cooperation potential between two countries in political, economic, cultural and several other spheres, specially was stressed the importance of making closer the cooperation in framework of international organizations. Ambassador Vardanyan conveyed to Vietnamese President warm greetings and wishes of President of the Republic of Armenia.

On behalf of Vietnamese people President Truong Tan Sang expressed his deep gratitude to Armenian people for support received during difficult years for his country. At the same time he mentioned that Vietnamese government is grateful for organizing high-quality education of Vietnamese citizens in Armenia during Soviet years.

He expressed hope that a part of those graduates can be a bridge for establishing and developing various relations between two countries. At the end of the meeting President Truong Tan Sang wished successes to newly-appointed Armenian ambassador in implementing her mission promising the support of the government.
