The task of the government is to adapt the people to the changing situations- PM

YEREVAN, APRIL 18, ARMENPRESS. The task of the government is to adapt its own people to the changing situation, stated PM Pashinyan in response to a question from one of the citizens during a meeting with the residents of Berkaber community in the Tavush region.  The citizen inquired whether it would be appropriate for the government to resign before commencing the border demarcation process with Azerbaijan and for new elections to be held, citing that the "Civil Agreement" party was re-elected in 2021 with other promises.

In response, PM said,” I don't think that's the way it should be because what we are doing now is our response to global geopolitical changes. We can hold an election next month, but today there's a war between Ukraine and Russia, tomorrow a war can start somewhere else, which will have an impact on our situation. The government's task is to adapt its own people to the changing situation we have, because that is the condition for living and developing. Furthermore, there isn't a single aspect of our pre-election agenda that we haven't pursued to completion and with integrity.”

He added that if they can implement their plans, Armenia will achieve genuine sovereignty and independence. Pashinyan emphasized "The next parliamentary elections in Armenia will take place in 2026. If you decide to change the government, you will.

The Prime Minister stressed that his actions are driven by the goal of making Armenia a genuinely independent nation, not just a mere outpost. He stated, "I understand that this could have a very negative impact on my political career. However, a leader is defined by their willingness to sacrifice everything for the benefit of the state and its future when necessary."
