YEREVAN, OCTOBER 5, ARMENPRESS. The Global Innovation Forum (GIF) has again gathered famous figures, leaders of the field in Yerevan who are here to support Armenia to advance technology and science, André Andonian, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation for Armenian Science and Technology (FAST) said during the opening ceremony of the Forum.

“Everybody is here to support Armenia, to support us to advance technology and skill up innovation. We have participants from Armenia and around the world. We are all engaged here in an open dialogue, and hopefully, strengthen Armenia but also advance technology and build mutual respect and trust with local science and tech community”, he said.

André Andonian said that the Forum is being held since 2017, and each year outstanding science and tech professionals gather here in Yerevan to share their ideas, vision.

“We are back with new ideas, with fresh energy, to support the advancement of the ecosystem to science technology and innovation. I believe that science and innovation have become even more powerful. And artificial intelligence is growing rapidly and is important for the society and the industry”, he stated.

Mr. Andonian presented also statistics of artificial intelligence, stating that according to the forecasts until 2025, 85 million jobs will be eliminated, but at the same time 97 million jobs will be created.

He also touched upon FAST, stating that the Foundation, that was created to ensure scientific and technological development in Armenia, has registered significant achievements.
