YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 23, ARMENPRESS. Renowned editor of ARMENPRESS news agency, journalist, translator Hovhannes Ayvazyan passed away at the age of 72.

Hovhannes Ayvazyan was born on March 3, 1950 in the village of Sakobo, Georgia.

He studied at the Faculty of Philology at the Yerevan State University, then at the Faculty of Journalism at the Lomonosov Moscow State University which he graduated in 1979. Hovhannes Ayvazyan has worked at Avangard, Soviet Armenia, Republic of Armenia newspapers as a literary worker, head of department. He has been the editor-in-chief of Nor Dprots and Nairi publishing houses. He has translated a number of books.
