UN Security Council calls on Baku and Yerevan to cease fire as soon as possible

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 14, ARMENPRESS. The members of the United Nations Security Council have expressed their support to the establishment of a ceasefire between Baku and Yerevan as soon as possible, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya told reporters, adding that a statement of the Security Council is being prepared in the format of “press elements”, RIA Novosti reports.

Everyone spoke unanimously in favor of an early ceasefire and the settlement of the situation politically and diplomatically. Now the press elements are being discussed, the experts are working on that”, he said, adding that Moscow insists that the press statement has a reference to the trilateral statements of the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan which serve as a base for the settlement of the relations between the two countries.

Vasily Nebenzya also said that during the UN Security Council’s closed session Russia has informed about the activities being done within the CSTO for stopping the conflict.
