Artsakh is Armenia, Armenian land – PM Pashinyan

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 6, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan emphasizes that the Armenians of Nagorno Karabakh are today facing existential threat, ARMENPRESS reports PM Pashinyan said in an interview with BBC, referring to the war unleashed by Azerbaijan against Artsakh.

‘’You said you have come from Stepanakert. You saw that the Armenians of Nagorno Karabakh are facing existential threat. The key point is that if the Azerbaijani armed forces succeed, it will mean genocide of the Armenians of Nagorno Karabakh’’, Pashinyan said.

He emphasized that Artsakh is Armenia, Armenian land, since over 80% of the population there have always been Armenians and today is the same.

‘’Azerbaijan wants that Armenians do not live there and for that reason has attacked Nagorno Karabakh with the support of terrorists. And what can anyone suggest? Should the Armenians of Nagorno Karabakh say ‘’ok, since you are terrorists we will deny our roots’’. It can never happen’’, Pashinyan said.

Azerbaijan, directly backed by Turkey, unleashed war against Artsakh on September 27. Turkey, in addition to various types of assistance to Azerbaijan, including using its own air force against Artsakh and the Republic of Armenia, deployed thousands of mercenaries and terrorists in Azerbaijan to fight against Artsakh. The fact of the presence of Turkey-backed terrorists in Azerbaijan is not questioned by any country, except Turkey and Azerbaijan.

Earlier today, President of Artsakh Arayik Harutyunyan called on an international coalition against the Turkey-backed terrorism.
