Azerbaijani lawmakers vote to dissolve parliament

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 2, ARMENPRESS. Azerbaijani lawmakers have voted to dissolve the country’s 125-seat parliament during a special session on Monday, RIA Novosti reports.

As reported earlier, Azerbaijan’s ruling party convened a meeting on November 28 and made a decision to bring the issue of early dissolution of parliament to the plenary session.

Now, Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev is expected to announce early elections.

Regular elections were scheduled to take place in November 2020.
