YEREVAN, MAY 3, ARMENPRESS. Businesses selling non-food merchandise must post clearly visible return policies for customers, and the government is introducing a new mandatory standard in this regard, Minister For Economic Development and Investments Tigran Khachatryan told a news conference on May 3.

“They say that despite this being a requirement by law that a customer is entitled to a 2-week return policy in case of non-food products, many retailers refuse to exercise this regulation by taking advantage of the buyers’ lack of awareness,” he said, adding that they are going to propose a new law by which retailers will be obliged to post clearly visible and understandable return policies.

He noted that this seemingly simple regulation is a necessity. The minister said they hope that the regulation will simplify the life of citizens and will increase the level of protection of rights. The ministry will soon submit the proposal to parliament, he said.
