YEREVAN, MARCH 25, ARMENPRESS. The death toll at the Chinese chemical plant explosion has reached 78, local authorities said.

Earlier it was said that 67 people died as a result of the March 21 explosion at the Jiangsu Tianjiayi Chemical Company, on the outskirts of the city of Yancheng in Jiangsu Province in China.

13 others are currently in critical condition, with another 66 seriously injured.

More than 2800 residential buildings have been damaged.

Police detained personnel of the factory on Friday amid an ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly blast.
