YEREVAN, JANUARY 9, ARMENPRESS. President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on January 9 sent a letter of condolences to President of Iran Hassan Rouhani on the death of former President of Iran Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, press service of the Presidential administration told “Armenpress”.

“Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani will remain as the President of the neighboring country in the memory of the Armenian people. During his tenure first inter-state relations between newly independent Armenia and Iran were established by giving a new impetus to the centuries-old friendly relations of our two peoples. Based on the firm ground created during those years, today we continue expanding and deepening our mutual cooperation”, the President’s letter reads.
