YEREVAN, OCTOBER 8, ARMENPRESS. The festivals dedicated to the 2700th anniversary of Armenian spiritual city Etchmiadzin was launched in the square after Vazgen Sargsyan by the opening of Vazgen Sargsyan’s memorial. Echmiadzin Mayor Karen Grigoryan told in the interview with “Armenpress” that the concept to create the commander’s memorial in the longest street of Echmiadzin came long ago, and he is happy that the memorial is opened on the occasion of Echmiadzin day.

Vazgen Sargsyan’s brother Aram Sargsyan was not surprised with the rumor of the opening of the memorial, but he confessed that he was proud to visit the square named after V. Sargsyan. “It is very pleasant that Etchmiadzin will also have the sculpture of Vazgen Sargsyan. Human lives are marked by their actions and if the man is absent, it does not mean the he does not exist. Vazgen exists and will continue to stay in the memories of the Armenian people”, he mentioned.
