YEREVAN, AUGUST 31, ARMENPRESS. The Government of the Republic of Armenia will remunerate the increase of the electricity tariff for the citizens and small and medium enterprises starting from August 1 until the end of the audit that is to be held in the “Electric Networks of Armenia” CJSC.

“Armenpress” reports that the Executive confirmed the draft decision by which the Government will subsidize the increase of 6.93 drams.

“The draft decision intends to remunerate the difference of the consumed electricity of the citizens who consume up to 500 kWh. This gives an opportunity to enlarge the list of SMEs among the beneficiaries. The decision does not intend to remunerate electricity increase for big business”, Zakharyan said. Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan emphasized, “We discussed the issue of supporting small and medium business with the President of the Republic this morning and a decision was made to submit that draft to the Government by which we try to find a solution also for SMEs”.
