EU commission: Worst migration crisis since WWII

YEREVAN, AUGUST 14, ARMENPRESS. World migration is the largest since the World War II. “Armenpress” reports that Migration and Home Affairs Commissioner Dimitris Avramopoulos told the journalists about this.

“Today the world has encountered with the worst crisis regarding refugees since the WWII. Europe tries to cope with the huge the large influx of people who seek shelter inside our borders”, he said in a press conference. The EU commissioner mentioned that he, like the President of the EU Commission Jean-Claude Juncker, is worried about the migrants in the EU member states.

He mentioned about 50 thousand migrants arrived in Greece in July of the current year. The number of migrants to Greece was 6 thousand during the same period of the last year. The EU commissioner mentioned also that “the solution of the problem of the migrants is the sovereign responsibility of the EU member states”.
