YEREVAN, JULY 24, ARMENPRESS. President Serzh Sargsyan paid a working visit to Tavush Province on July 24. As “Armenpress” was informed from the Department of Public Relations and Mass Media of the Presidential Staff of the Republic of Armenia, the visit started from Dilijan city where the President of the Republic Serzh Sargsyan held a meeting with nearly 200 representatives of “Luys” foundation community in the Dilijan research center of the Central Bank.

Before the meeting participant teams of the Luys “Develop Armenia Together” Program introduced their projects to the President in the entrance hall of the center.

The President of the Republic of Armenia, co-founder of “Luys” foundation Serzh Sargsyan delivered certificates to the new students for being awarded with “Luys” foundation scholarships.

53 new students got a scholarship in 2015-2016, 54 students continue their education with the support of “Luys”.

Serzh Sargsyan congratulated the students and wished new educational success.

“No doubt, I look forward to this meeting every year. First, I want to congratulate this year’s beneficiaries of “Luys” foundation who entered the best universities of the world and have already received support from “Luys”. In our times, especially in this room, it is needless to speak about the importance of education. But, as a President of Armenia, I want to assure all of you that your homeland, your country is always ready to support you on your way to making your professional skills, and your knowledge perfect.  All countries need wise and competitive specialists, especially our country. Thus, I repeat once more that we will not spare any effort in order you be able to reach the maximum of your capabilities.

Today the world changes rapidly and in a fast developing world it is necessary that any subsequent generation gets better education, is wiser and better informed than the previous one and makes more accurate decisions. In that regard I am happy that a good generation is rising in Armenia, the one that will substitute you, which simply made me happy during the last week. Supposedly you know, and if you do not, know, that World Mathematical, Physics and  Biology  Olympiads took place during last week from where 14 out of 15 Armenian participants returned home with medals”, said President Serzh Sargsyan, comparing the results with other states of the region where Armenia has quite a large preponderance.

The President thanked the students and graduates of “Luys” who receiving education in the top universities of the world, return home and serve their knowledge for the sake of their nation.

The President left Dilijan for Berd town. The President visited a number of bordering communities in the framework the working visit to Tavush Province.
