YEREVAN, JULY 9, ARMENPRESS: Since January 2015 2,5% inflation has been recorded in Armenia, though a tendency to deflation was recorded during the next months. The Head of the Department for Price Statistics and International Comparisons of the National Statistical Service of the Republic of Armenia Gurgen Martirosyan stated about it during the meeting with the journalists on July 9.
Martirosyan told that deflation was recorded in milk products 1,7% and fish products 1,4%. Deflation of 0,1% in bread and meat products and 0,5% in sugar was registered. “In other product groups inflation was recorded. If we study separate groups in vegetables, the highest deflation was recorded in tomato prices, the price of which dropped by about 3 times. The prices for green pepper and eggplant decreased about twice. I should note that in comparison with May of 2014, the prices for potatoes decreased twice this year, though in June the prices equaled. By June 20 the prices for potatoes got higher than last year”, - stated Gurgen Martirosyan, Armenpress reports.
