Paris marking Édith Piaf’s 100th birthday with large exhibition

YEREVAN, 2 MAY, ARMENPRESS. The exhibition dedicated to French singer Édith Piaf’s 100th birthday has opened in Paris. As “Armenpress” reports, citing EuroNews TV, the exhibition opened at the National Library of France and will showcase 400 samples.

The exhibition will showcase concert posters, letters, photos, scenes from films and even the black dress that has become Édith Piaf’s symbol.

Édith Piaf had songs about various topics. Most of them were about her vivid life. The daughter of street performers was abandoned by her mother and spent a part of her life at her grandmother’s brothel. The singer died in 1963. She was 47 years old.

The exhibition will run until late August.
