MOSCOW, 28 APRIL, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev has sent a telegram to Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan on the occasion of the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide. As “Armenpress” reports, citing the official website of the Government of the Russian Federation, the telegram particularly reads as follows:

“Dear Mr. Abrahamyan,

These days we are paying tribute to the victims of the Armenian Genocide, which is one of the most dramatic tragedies in history. We are mourning for those who died as a result of mass repressions that took place in the Ottoman Empire 100 years ago. There are no and there can’t be any justifications for crimes against humanity and civilizations. It is each person’s duty to do everything possible to make sure the horrors of the past are never repeated and are not repeated anywhere. The latest commemorative events held in Yerevan emphasized once again the importance of those lessons in history.

On behalf of the government of the Russian Federation and on behalf of myself, I convey to you and all the citizens of fraternal Armenia my compassion and words of condolence. We share your pain and sorrow.

May the victims be remembered in glory! May the future generations live in peace and solidarity.”
