Putin highlights special character of Armenian-Russian ties

YEREVAN, APRIL 24, ARMENPRESS. The President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan had a meeting with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on April 24. The Russian President arrived in Yerevan to participate in the commemoration ceremony of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The Mass media and Public Relations Department of the Armenian President’s office informed “Armenpress” that Serzh Sargsyan expressed his gratitude to President Putin for visiting Yerevan and standing by the Armenian people on this significant day.

In his turn, the Russian President thanked Serzh Sargsyan for the invitation and once again highlighted the special character of the ties between Armenia and Russia, the Armenian and Russian peoples, as well as, other nations of the Russian Federation.

Among other things, the Russian President underscored: “All of these have very deep historical roots. We have always been close allies; we were and we’ll remain such allies in future. Today the relations between our countries are developing.”
