YEREVAN, 25 MARCH, ARMENPRESS. On March 24, the Armenian audience had the opportunity to listen to Hamasyan’s exclusive interpretation of spiritual music. As “Armenpress” reports, on March 24, the first concert by renowned jazz pianist Tigran Hamasyan and the Yerevan State Chamber Choir (artistic director Harutyun Topikyan) of “Light from Light” series took place at the Alexander Spendiaryan Opera and Ballet National Academic Theatre. Thus the concert series dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide kicked off.

Exclusively hymns and spiritual songs have been performed during the concert, which were prepared for choir and piano. The spiritual music of 5-19th centuries took new breath through Hamasyan’s fresh, youthful and attractive performance. At the end of the concert, according to the tradition, the Armenian audience admitted the performance by standing ovation, stubbornly wishing “not to miss” the beloved musician.
