Armenian Consulate to be opened in Iraqi Kurdistan in coming month: L. Sargsyan

YEREVAN, MARCH 24, ARMENPRESS. All the procedures for the opening of the Consulate General in Iraqi Kurdistan have been completed. The Ambassador-at-Large of the Republic of Armenia Levon Sargsyan stated this in an interview to Iraqi Hurr newspaper.

As reports “Armenpress”, in Erbil, the Ambassador-at-Large of the Republic of Armenia Levon Sargsyan noted that the aim of his visit is the opening of the Consulate-General of the Republic of Armenia in the Kurdistan region.

Among other things, the Ambassador-at-Large of the Republic of Armenia Levon Sargsyan underscored: “In Baghdad, I had meetings with the Deputy Prime Minister of Iraq, as well as the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq, during which we discussed issues on the bilateral ties and opening of consulate in Erbil.”

In addition, the Ambassador-at-Large of the Republic of Armenia Levon Sargsyan highlighted that the Consulate will be opened in May or June of the current year.
