Francois Hollande calls on Turkey to confront its past

YEREVAN, 29 JANUARY, ARMENPRESS. The presence of President of France Francois Hollande at the annual banquet organized by the Coordinating Council of Armenian Orgnaizations of France (CCAF) was a unique sign of political support. With his presence, the French President declared that he is showing his political support on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. This is what President of the Coordinating Council of Armenian Organizations of France Mourad Papazian said in an interview with “Armenpress”.

 “The President mentioned that he would be in Yerevan on April 24 to express his support to the Armenian Cause and called on Turkey to confront its past and recognize the Armenian Genocide this year,” Papazian said, citing President Hollande’s words. The President of the Coordinating Council of Armenian Organizations of France is certain that we will be seeing new steps being taken for recognition of the Armenian Genocide this year.

 The annual banquet hosted by the Coordinating Council of Armenian Organizations of France (CCAF) was attended by 450 guests, including representatives of France’s political elite.
