Survey says only 9 percent of Turks believe killings of Armenians were genocide
ANKARA, 13 JANUARY, ARMENPRESS. Even less than ten percent of Turkey’s population believes the national government should recognize the massacres of Armenians during WWI as genocide. As “Armenpress” reports, citing France-Presse news agency, this is based on the results of a survey.
Based on the results of a survey ahead of the 100th anniversary of the tragedy, only 9.1% of the surveyed say the Turkish government should apologize for the killings of 1915. Another 9.1% say Turkey should apologize, without recognizing the genocide.
