Hrant Dink Foundation on Ruben Melkonian’s criticism
YEREVAN, 16 DECEMBER, ARMENPRESS. The Hrant Dink Foundation has referred to Ruben Melkonyan’s criticism of the Armenian translation of Hasan Cemal’s book “1915: Armenian Genocide”.
The Foundation finds that it is the duty of the translator and the publishing house to stay true to the original of the writer. In the Hrant Dink Foundation statement it is mentioned: “No translator has the right to interfere in the author’s affairs or add a statement. A serious publisher can’t tolerate the inclusion of the translator’s additional subjective observations in the book.”
