YEREVAN, 24 NOVEMBER, ARMENPRESS. Upon desire, any member state of the Eurasian Economic Union may secede from the Union without the consent of another member state. This is what Armenia’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Shavarsh Kocharyan informed during parliamentary hearings devoted to Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union at the National Assembly, responding to the question of one of the participants of the hearings on secession from the EEU. “If a member state submits an appeal to secede from the Union, it doesn’t need consent from other member states. The consent of other states is only necessary for accession to the Union,” he mentioned, according to “ArmenPress”.

Shavarsh Kocharyan also reported that a state’s accession to the EEU ends 12 months after the appeal for secession is submitted. The deputy minister emphasized that in those 12 months the country is obliged to fulfill all its financial obligations.
