Over 1 million tourists visited Armenia in 2013
YEREVAN, AUGUST 13, ARMENPRESS. The number of tourists visiting Armenia for 2013 exceeded 1 million. The results of the research held in Armenia, which was implemented according to the UN World Tourism Organization methodology, prove this. At the course of the press conference, the head of Tourism Department of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia Mekhak Apresyan stated that while last year the statistics was realized according to other mythology, in the result of which there was inaccuracy, which has been corrected in the results of a new research. As “Armenpress” reports, Apresyan underscored: “This year’s data have been calculated on the basis of the results of research carried out in Armenia border checkpoints. The research was conducted by the National Statistics Service, according to the UN World Tourism Organization methodology. In the result of research, the number of tourists visited Armenia in 2013 was also clarified, and it turned out 1 million 090 thousand tourists visited Armenia in 2013..”
