Nagorno-Karabakh is not only unrecognized state that "de facto" becomes part of EEU: Gagik Minasyan

YEREVAN, JUNE 3, ARMENPRESS. Armenia's membership in the Eurasian Economic Space opens broad prospects for the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh.  Nagorno-Karabakh, not becoming EEU member, "de facto" becomes a part of the Eurasian Economic Space, and the goods produced there have the same status as the goods produced by the other Union member-countries. Azerbaijan understands this very well and is trying by all means to hinder Armenia's accession process to the Eurasian Economic Space. This, on June 3, at the meeting with the journalists was said by the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs of the National Assembly Gagik Minasyan. "The Republic of Armenia and the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic are a single joint economic space, and there can be no customs checkpoint between us. Azerbaijan understands this very well and in the most different ways tries to obstruct the process" – as reports “Armenpress”, said Gagik Minasyan, adding that Nagorno-Karabakh is not the only unrecognized state that, not being a EEU member, "de facto" becomes a part of EEU Space, recalling that Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed the agreements, which abolished the customs borders between Russia and Abkhazia, as well as Russia and South Ossetia.

Referring to Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev's statement made in Astana that Armenia should join the Eurasian Economic Space with the boundaries, with which if had joined the World Trade Organization, Gagik Minasyan said that it was the second time that Nazarbayev had raised that issue, showing that he fully protected the interests of Azerbaijan.
