YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 19, ARMENPRESS. Armenian Member of Parliament Arsen Torosyan (Civil Contract) met with Lithuanian Members of Parliament and Head of the Lithuania-Armenia friendship group Raimundas Lopata and Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Relations Žygimantas Pavilionis in Vilnius.

During the meetings Torosyan spoke about the high level relations between Armenia and Lithuania and the need to further deepen the ties.

“We also discussed the importance of deepening relations with the European Union and implementation of practical steps in this direction. We also addressed the security situation in our region,” Torosyan said in a statement on social media.

Torosyan thanked legislator Raimundas Lopata for his statement condemning the September 12-14 Azerbaijani aggression against Armenia.

“I highlighted the EU monitoring mission deployed to the Armenian-Azerbaijani border as a newly launched important mechanism for regional security. I especially emphasized that there is a need to extend the term of deployment, which would allow to bring stability to the region for a longer period of time in order to have the chance to reach lasting peace between the two countries,” Torosyan said.
