YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 29, ARMENPRESS. Elmar Mammadyarov, minister of foreign affairs of Azerbaijan, announced that the Hamburg meeting with the co-chairing sides may be held in a 2+3 format, that is – the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan and the three foreign ministers of OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries will take part in the meeting, APA reports.

“When I was in France, a proposal was made for the meeting to be held in a 2+3 format, meaning, the two sides and ministers of co-chairing countries”, Mammadyarov said, confirming the proposal.

Speaking about substitution of the US and French co-chairs, he said in his opinion it won’t change the situation.

“The new French co-chair knows the region, is an experienced diplomat. For instance, the meeting of the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia in Munich was held in the Consulate General of France, when this person was the Consul. Perhaps, he will seriously deal with that issue”, Mammadyarov said.

He also said the Hamburg meeting will be the last meeting with US co-chair James Warlick.

“In terms of who will work instead of him, depends on the State Department. The new co-chair will be known after the formation of a new administration”, he said.
