YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 19, ARMENPRESS. Armenia’s and Russia’s stances coincide on the issue that the Nagorno Karabakh conflict must be settled exclusively through political means, Chairperson of the Council of the Federation Committee on Foreign Affairs of Russia Konstantin Kosachev said in the Armenian Parliament, reports “Armenpress”.

“Russia with a big concern has followed the sharp increase of tension over Nagorno Karabakh in April of this year. We were really concerned over it, and I am confident that today we will discuss this issue and will once again reaffirm our belief that the solution of all existing issues is possible only through political, rather than military and force methods. The stances of Armenia and Russia definitely coincide on this issue”, Kosachev said.

The Russian MP said the situation remains tense in other conflict zones as well. He said the Syrian conflict is as well somehow connected with Russia’s, as well as Armenia’s interests. “At the final result we are facing common challenges, threats. And the cooperation of our states in countering international terrorism, as well as political and religious fundamentalism is also a topic of discussion”, he said.
