YEREVAN, JUNE 6, ARMENPRESS. Mekhak Apresyan, Head of the Tourism Department of the Economy Ministry says the Armenia-Iran visa-free regime will significantly boost tourism.

“Let me start by saying that the visa-free regime will have positive impact not only on tourism. It is also important for the cooperation and strengthening of economic and intercultural ties. As far as tourism is concerned, the priority issue is boosting Armenia-Iran mutual tourist visits. And this is important not only economically speaking, but also for strengthening intercultural ties between two friendly countries”, Apresyan said.

Apresyan said more Iranian tourists are visiting Armenia than vice versa.

According to him, foreign tourists will be able to acquire special tour packages for visiting both Armenia and Iran during one visit.
