YEREVAN, MAY 25, ARMENPRESS. Chairman of the State Water System Committee Aram Harutyunyan says the construction of the Kaps reservoir is scheduled to be finished in 4 years.

Currently the project is the technical planning stage.

“As you know, the project is implemented with the Government of Germany, in particular with the KfW bank. We hope to finish all preparatory works by 2018 and start the construction. The construction process will last 4 years”, he said.

According to him, 25 million cubic meters of water is planned to be stored in the first stage, and 60 million in the second.

The Kaps reservoir is located in the Shirak Province, on the right bank of the river Akhuryan, 2km north of Kaps village.
