YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 9, ARMENPRESS.  Webometrics Ranking of World Universities has released the new ranking table of the world universities.

“Armenpress” was informed from the press service of Yerevan State University that, according to the latest data by Webometrics, conducting the ranking of the universities, YSU has the highest ranking among the Armenian universities. It should be noted that compared to 2015 YSU has shown progress (it was ranked 2510th and now is 2314th).

In total, the list included 37 Armenian universities and educational institutions.

Below is the top ten of the Armenian universities according to Webometrics.

 1. Yerevan State University - 2314 (810th place in Europe (previously 879th)
2. The American University of Armenia - 3887
3. The Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University - 5355
4. Yerevan State Medical University - 9233
5. State Pedagogical University of Armenia - 9864
6. Yerevan State University of Languages and Social Sciences - 10104
7. Armenian National Agrarian University - 10606
8. State Economic University of Armenia - 11199
9. Yerevan State Academy of Arts - 11608
10. French University of Armenia - 13327

 The ranking of the universities is formed by different criteria, including the website volume, saturation of the training and educational material, indicators of the external links and the number of scientific papers that have been published in the international journals.

For all the above mentioned criteria YSU has progressed compared to the last year.
