Armenia attaches importance to international observers’ politically neutral and objective 
evaluations

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 7, ARMENPRESS. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan received the head of CIS observer mission Yevgeny Sloboda on December 7. As the Department of Public Relations and Mass Media of the Armenian President’s office informed “Armenpress”, President welcomed the guest and his headed observation mission in Armenia emphasizing that Armenian nationwide referendum on constitutional reforms is an important political event in our country's history and It is gratifying that various international organizations, as well as the CIS observation mission, which is the largest and most representative mission, monitored the entire process. The President stressed that Armenia attaches importance to international observers’ politically neutral and objective assessments.

Serzh Sargsyan mentioned with satisfaction that before the referendum it became possible to ensure compliance with the principles of democracy, openness and transparency, political forces’ engagement in the procedure; everything was done for the proper preparation and conduct of the referendum by providing conditions for all observation missions according to Armenia legislation and relevant international commitments.

The head of the CIS observation introduced the mission’s conclusion on the referendum and once again emphasized that mission’s first and main conclusion is that all levels of state government, local government, as well as referendum polling station commissions allowed citizens to vote and express their will freely.
