Erdoğan conveys National Security Council meeting

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 24, ARMENPRESS.  Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan conveyed a National Security Council meeting to discuss the destroyed Russian Su-24 jet and developments stemming from the incident. “Armenpress” reports Turkish “Anadolu” agency informs about this.

Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu, chief of Turkish Armed Forces General Staff Gen. Hulusi Akar, Hakan Fidan, head of the National Intelligence Agency (MIT) and a number of ministers attended the meeting chaired by President Erdoğan. The meeting lasted an hour and 15 minutes. 

The Russian bomber was shot down over Syria by an air-to-air surface fired from a Turkish F-16 plane when the bomber was at an altitude of 6,000 meters at a distance of 1 km from the Turkish border. The jet dropped 4 km away from the Turkish border.

According to President Putin, the Su-24 plane incident in is "a stab in Russia’s back” delivered by terrorist accomplices.

Federation Council of Russia proposes to temporarily suspend all relations with Turkey

Turkey has applied to NATO and UNSC for this incident.
