YEREVAN, OCTOBER 13, ARMENPRESS. President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan paid a working visit to Syunik Province on October 13. The President familiarized himself with the process of Shaki-Sisian-Tolors road construction and met with the beneficiaries of the project. The road being reconstructed with a total length of 29.03 kms comprises of two sections. The total cost of the project is nearly 2.5 billion drams.

As “Armenpress” was informed from the Department of Information and Mass Media of Republic of Armenia President’s Staff, Serzh Sargsyan left for Goris city afterwards, where he attended the opening ceremony of Contour Global Hydro Cascade’s office together with the Vice Presidents of “Contour Global” company and got acquainted with the activities of energy producing transnational company “Contour Global” and the projects of its Armenian office.

Serzh Sargsyan met the residents of Goris and Sisian cities and talked about their priority issues.

In the Syunik community of the province the President of the Republic got acquainted with the construction works of "Syunik Food" cannery. The construction with a total cost of 700 million drams was launched in November, 2014, and is expected to be completed in April, 2016.

Nearly 50 employees are engaged in the works with an average salary of 150.000 drams. After launching the cannery nearly 200 people will be employed with two shifts with an average monthly salary of 90.000 drams.

After Syunik community the President visited Kapan, the regional center of Syunik Province, where he first attended N2 reconstructed school.  The President toured in the school, got acquainted with the new accommodations, talked to the teachers and director of the school. The total cost of Kapan N2 School made 933.6 million drams.

The President also attended the opening ceremony of a modernized medical center in Kapan. Thank to the newly opened medical center, the residents of Syunik, and particularly of Kapan, will have the opportunity to receive high quality healthcare with reasonable prices.

The President also participated in festive events organized prior to the day of the city.
