YEREVAN, OCTOBER 11, ARMENPRESS. The ministerial conference of Francophonie international organization held in Yerevan is another proof of Armenia’s attaching great importance to Francophonie and its values. “Armenpress” reports that Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian said during a press conference at the end of the conference that Armenia has reconfirmed its commitments to the large area of exchange and cooperation. “Meaningful and productive discussions were held. Francophonie is an area of peace, dialogue and diversity”, Nalbandian said, adding that Armenia will continue making efforts for the development of Francophonie.

Secretary General of La Francophonie Michaëlle Jean mentioned that arriving in Yerevan she discovered a country where the past is still alive.  “This morning we walked to Tsitsernakaberd, a place of remembrance and memory which reminds us of the pain that the Armenian nation has felt. The pointer of the memorial symbolizes the uniting force and aspiration to future of the nation. We join all these by sharing Armenia’s pain and sufferings as we reevaluate our pain here. We also reevaluate our power emerging from here. This is the exclusive role of Armenia in Francophonie”, Michaëlle Jean said.
