EEC Board member Robert Harutyunyan: Diversification of economy and innovations are keys to growth in EEU
11:12, 6 October 2015YEREVAN, OCTOBER 6, ARMENPRESS. Speaking at the International Investment Forum Sochi-2015 Eurasian Economic Commission Board member Robert Harutyunyan presented the ways of improving the level of Eurasian Economic Union’s (EEU) economy.
In this context Harutyunyan attached great importance to the development of production. “Armenpress” reports, referring to the official website of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Harutyunyan emphasized that currently EEU member states could restore their economic growth rates by employing first of all their domestic resources and enhancing domestic consumption. He also added that the activities must mainly be directed towards the diversification of the economy. According to him, it is necessary to improve trade balance and implement innovative policies.
As Robert Harutyunyan pointed out, transition to the development of the manufacturing industry and the gradual increase of GDP of EEU member states would enable to create the maximum added value, and would give impetus to the emergence of new technological solutions and innovative developments.
