YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 9, ARMENPRESS. Armenia will join Global Forum of transparency and exchange of information by the means of taxation within the framework of Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development. 

As “Armenpress” reports the decision of the relevant draft is included in the agenda of September 10 government session. During the last years the rise of cases of tax evasion on international level is a serious challenge for the tax authorities of all countries, which entails a number of issues such as less taxation. The final aim of joining the Global Forum is to be included in the system of automatic information exchange for the purpose of taxation. This system is considered to be a new global standard which significantly reduces the risk of tax evasion. To benefit from this system the states are obligated to pass stages of expert evaluation.

It is expected that the membership to the Global Forum will provide Armenia with a number of privileges, particularly, a membership to the largest group in the world aimed for taxation and the system of automatic information exchange.

At the same time it is expected that within the framework of membership to the Global Forum the process of expert evaluation will give real opportunities to reveal the drawbacks and the prospects for amendments of the legal system.
